Annual General Meeting
A fantastic fun filled night had by all at CCHA’s AGM!

To our tenants, partners and friends – thank you for attending our AGM at Cardiff City Football Stadium on 14th July 2010. We had a massive turnout again this year with over 100 people attending. The evening’s entertainment was hosted by Derek Brockway, BBC’s Weather Man and host of TV Series Weatherman Walking. Tenants met Derek, had their photographs taken with him and he spent time signing autographs for everyone; He was a huge hit. |
Then we had the ever funny Reverend Canon Roger Royle who had the audience in fits of laughter as usual. Roger was kind enough to come down from London again this year to present the winners of the gardening competition with their prizes and mingle with his fans – we all love him!
Roger also narrated the Community Development DVD which highlighted the work we carry out in the community and our tenant participation activities. The DVD demonstrates the hard work and involvement of tenants in what we are jointly trying to achieve. We would again like to thank the tenants, staff and students of Cardiff University who helped make this DVD a success.

We were joined by children and teachers from Adamsdown Primary School. The children ages 3-11 drew pictures on the themes of ‘My House’, ‘What houses will look like in the future’ and ‘My favourite things in the community where I live’. These pictures have been transferred onto canvass and are now displaying in our offices.
The evening was rounded off with singing from Adamsdown Community Choir and a raffle. The lucky winner of the 26inch TV was Mrs James.

Race for life - CCHA Raise £1000!
On a damp and drizzly Sunday morning a group of CCHA staff gathered in

All race entrants finished to rapturous applause from the watching crowds and can be very pleased at how much money was raised for charity, although the final figure is to be confirmed, it should be around the £1000 mark. It was a very good effort and gradually the weather improved, just in time for when the athletes went to the pub for a celebratory lunch!

CCHA Turn Blue for Everyman Campaign
On Friday the 30th July, CCHA held a TURN BLUE day in aid of Everyman Campaign against male cancer. The Association’s Wellness@Work Team were keen to help out such an important charity and spread its message, and also to balance out all the pink we recently wore in aid of Cancer Research Race for Life!

Staff donated money to dress down in blue clothes and also paid to take a coffee break. Eleanor Elliott baked blue-iced cakes for our Ocean Park office, Nicky Condon made an apple pie for our Meteor Street office and Splott Road enjoyed Fairtrade kitkats for staff to purchase, with all proceeds going towards the charity. These were washed down with Fairtrade coffee’s and tea’s, helping CCHA build towards becoming a Fairtrade company.

We raised a total of £107, which was more than anticipated, and had a little fun doing it! For further information about Everyman, visit www.everyman-campaign.org/
