LONG TIME COMIN… BUT NOW IT’S HERE!
MAJOR CHANGES TO THE WAY WE ALLOCATE HOMES TOO BRING MASSIVE SERIVCE IMPROVEMENTS FOR APPLICANTS
For more years than we care to rememember the Council and all seven Cardiff Housing Associations have been trying to find a way of improving the services we offer to people looking for a home. Right now, in Cardiff, if you want to apply for housing with the Council and the housing associations you have to fill in eight different housing application forms and plot your way through a myriad of different application and assessment processes.
All that is about to change.
From the 1st April 2009 the Council and all the housing associations are joining together to provide a one-stop service to all those looking for a home in the City. We’e excited about the change and believe it will dramatically improve the service FOR applicants in need of a good home.
Read on for an explanation of the new system and how it will help you if you are a current CCHA housing applicant or are thinking of applying for a new home…
APPLYING FOR A HOME IN CARDIFF
On the 1st April 2009 we will join the Cardiff Common Waiting List. This means that anyone who applies for housing anywhere in Cardiff will only have to complete one application form, and will be registered on one waiting list. It will be managed by Cardiff Council on behalf of CCHA and the other housing associations in Cardiff.

Your application will be assessed by awarding you a 'priority status' or a 'points score'. Your status or points score will depend upon your particular circumstances.
