Tenant Participation Compacts |
The Compact is an agreement between CCHA and any tenants’ organisation. It sets out the duties and rights of both “sides” to enable tenants to be fully involved in developing our housing services and to strengthen local communities.
Each agreement covers:
-
Role of tenants: the level of involvement, which can range from being kept informed through to having control of particular activities.
-
The issues in which tenants can be involved.
-
Policies for getting tenants involved.
-
Structures for tenants to be involved including tenants’ associations, informal grouping and opportunities for individuals to make their views known.
-
Methods for effective two-way communication. Tenants should be able to make informed decisions and CCHA should obtain a clear understanding of tenants’ preferences.
-
Support for tenant involvement. This includes financial, staff time and expertise, training and other practical support – including the use of the Tenant's Resource Centre.
-
Methods for reviewing the effectiveness of tenant participation.
Procedures for complaints about the implementation of the Compact.
