Your Responsibilities

CCHA is not responsible for all repairs in your home. We do not have a duty to repair any of the fixtures and fittings if you, your family or your guests damage them, and this damage is due to neglect or carelessness.

In addition, you are responsible for certain work around your home, such as:

• Replacing locks if you lose your keys
• Fitting TV aerials
• Draught exclusion if the doors and windows fit reasonably
• Replacing plugs and chains on sinks, baths and basins
• Replacing broken toilet seats
• Changing domestic fuses
• Filling minor cracks before redecoration
• Plumbing-in of washing machines and dishwashers
• Bleeding radiators
• Adapting doors to accommodate carpets
• The cleaning of sinks, sewers or toilets if they become blocked as a result of misuse
• Replacing light bulbs and tubes
• Maintaining and cultivating the garden to a good standard
