About CCHA

We provide a comprehensive service for a wide range of people in need of good quality, secure and affordable housing. We cater for single people, families, the elderly and those with particular needs, such as physical disabilities and learning difficulties. Most of our housing is for rent, although we also offer low cost home ownership opportunities. Our homes are available to those on low or modest incomes.

We welcome applications from a wide range of persons over the age of 16 years who are resident in the United Kingdom, such as those:

  • In great need – caused by personal housing problems.
  • On modest incomes working in Cardiff.
  • Actively involved in supporting community activities.
  • Who can handle responsibility and can conduct a tenancy reasonably and sensibly.

CCHA, since being established in 1976, now has some 2,500 homes in management, with an extensive and varied portfolio of projects in our future plans, that demonstrate our commitment to diversity of products and customers. A wide ranging network of partnerships with public, private and voluntary sector organisations, has been established to sustain our corporate objectives.

We have been developing a broader community remit for our work for many years. This has resulted in an innovative approach to community audit and action plans in some of our areas of activity, which has established a solid platform for initiatives such as Communities First. It has also resulted in a number of complementary areas of activity beyond our core business, such as Care and Repair Cardiff and the Cardiff Accessible Homes Project.

Our financial position is robust, with some £10m in revenue and designated repair reserves, and a coherent long term asset management strategy. We operate over three offices and have 88 staff, of which 14 are site/scheme based.
