Harrowby Street, Galleon Way, The Granary And Now Aquila – Sold Out!
|
Our superb low cost home ownership (LCHO) apartment development at Aquila, Cardiff Bay is now sold out. In the last few weeks we’ve agreed sale terms on the last remaining few and so, subject to contract, this excellent development is a sell-out. All our LCHO schemes have proved extremely popular and have helped 80 people on modest incomes to own their own homes. High house prices in Cardiff mean that for many people owning a home of their own is now out of their grasp – so it’s great that our schemes have put these brilliant homes within their reach. |

Kevin Protheroe, Chief Executive of CCHA, sees the Association’s role expanding to address the needs of local people facing the consequences of more than a decade of price rises. “We want to make sure people who want to live in Cardiff can both buy their own homes and rent the highest quality properties at reasonable rents.
“The properties are perfectly suited to single people or couples who want the convenience of apartment life, with the great amenities of both the bay and the city centre and transport links on their doorstep.
“As examples, the purchasers were working people on modest incomes just starting out who couldn’t get onto the ladder in Cardiff because it is such a popular city and has become such a hot property market. They also include people who are starting again following a change in personal circumstances or returning to home ownership after a gap.
“At Aquila the one-/two-bedroom apartments were offered to eligible buyers for around £78,250 to £99,400. However, the purchasers only had to fund around 70 per cent of the full sale prices (£109,000 to £142,000) through either a mortgage or mortgage and deposit combined. We then provide them with a loan for the remaining percentage with nothing to be repaid until the property is sold.”
LCHO On Its Way to Splott!
If you like the sound of LCHO, the great news is that our next scheme is already underway!
We’re delighted to announce that it’s in Splott, one of Cardiff’s oldest and proudest communities and will be available in Spring 2008. We’ve been working in the area for over 30 years.
We’ll be publishing details of our new scheme, at Lewis Road, on www.myplaceinthebay.co.uk shortly; please check the site for details. We’ll have 10 one and two bedroom apartments for sale and they’re all to the same high standards of all our other schemes.
CCHA’S Team Are In The Pink!
CCHA’s team did their bit for the ‘Wear it Pink’ breast cancer campaign on the 26th October 2007. The team risked the ridicule of their colleagues by coming to work in various vivid shades of pink and sporting pink wigs, moustaches and even the odd tutu. The picture tells its own story and we’re delighted to have raised over a £120 on the day for this very worhy cause.

Our new Corporate Plan is available on the site now. Updated every year it plots the direction we intend to take our business in the next three years. To view the Plan please follow this link: Corporate Plan 2007-10. Corporate Plan 2007-10 Launched On This Website
