Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) has appointed experienced social housing professional, Hayley Selway as its new chief executive.
Ms Selway will take over from the organisation’s interim CEO Stephen Cook over the next few months.
CCHA’s board chair, Duncan Forbes, said: “I am really pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Hayley Selway as the new chief executive of CCHA.
“Hayley joins us from the post she has held since 2016 at Taff Housing Association, where she is responsible for landlord services, development, tenant engagement, partnerships and repairs. She is also in charge of asset management and compliance, HR and organisational development.”
Ms Selway said of her new role: “I am delighted to be appointed to lead CCHA on the next steps in its journey. It has been a difficult year for all involved in the organisation however I believe the building blocks are there to re-establish its reputation as a fantastic landlord, support provider and developer.
“The Welsh housing sector has set itself a challenging target of 75,000 new affordable homes over the next 20 years. CCHA will continue to play a significant role in delivering new homes across Cardiff”
She said communities were “having such a tough time at the moment”, a reference to the impact of welfare reforms and austerity measures, and CCHA’s strategy placed them at its heart. The new leader will shortly start attending key meetings and be introduced to staff. She will also be involved in selecting a new senior leadership team.
