During Autumn 2020 Welsh Government carried out research to find out whether tenants thought the Welsh Quality Housing Standard (WHQS), which was set up in 2002 to improve the standard of social housing, needs to be changed and improved.

As part of this, tenants were also asked if their homes and local area provided what they needed during the coronavirus lockdown. The research also asked whether tenants were happy with Welsh Government’s plans to make their homes more energy efficient, greener and more environmentally friendly.
